Fruta del Norte (FDN) is one of the largest and highest grade gold deposits in the world currently in production. The Company has an experienced mine operations team dedicated to advancing FDN responsibly. In the fourth quarter of 2019, Lundin Gold realized first gold production as well as the first export of gold concentrate and doré. In the first quarter of 2020 FDN achieved commercial production. THE ROLE

The Security Coordinator is responsible for supporting all facets of the company’s physical security. He/she works under the supervision of the Superintendent and Manager of the area, collaborating in the development, implementation and execution of policies, plans and procedures aimed at ensuring the protection of human talent, information and assets of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Update plans, programs, procedures and other documents related to physical security.
  • Identify threats, analyze and manage vulnerabilities and risks in the area.
  • Supervise the operations of contracted security services.
  • Provide support in emergency management.
  • Conduct internal investigations to prevent or respond to losses or incidents.
  • Evaluate company facilities to determine the level of protection required and provide recommendations to management.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
  • Be knowledgeable of, execute and ensure departmental compliance with Equator Government requirements, shareholder interests, environmental health and safety legislation, and company regulations.
  • Plan and have the ability to obtain, analyze, integrate and disseminate relevant information for company decision making.
  • Plan and operate drones to perform regular or scheduled aerial surveillance in areas of interest, such as facility perimeters, restricted access zones or risk areas.
  • Execute aerial surveillance with real-time transmission to detect suspicious activities, intrusions or emergency situations.
  • Deploy drones quickly in case of alarms or security incidents to assess the situation and provide critical information to security personnel.
  • Keep up to date with DGAC regulations and changes in laws related to the use of drones for security purposes (Lead executive protection teams).

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Higher education in a security-related field.
  • Complementary training that covers the competencies for the position.
  • Certificate of Operation of Remotely Piloted Aircraft – Drones, authorized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
  • More than 5 years of related experience, preferably with military or law enforcement.
  • Proven experience as a security supervisor or similar position with more than 2 years of experience in private security.
  • More than 2 years of experience in safety services management in both construction and operational environments.
  • Experience with industrial field activities and remote camps (Mining, Oil & Gas or similar).
  • Proven experience as a pilot of Remotely Piloted Aircraft – Drones.
  • Experience in emergency response management.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety operations, policies, protocols and procedures.
  • Experience in the use of relevant technology and equipment (Drones, surveillance cameras, access control).
  • Extensive knowledge of government regulations related to security requirements.
  • Experience in developing relationships with government authorities such as military and law enforcement.
  • Experience in risk management.
  • Special tactical training “Tiger” or “Commando”.
  • PMI or Escort training in protection of persons.
  • Knowledge of ASIS (Protection Of Assets) POA.
  • Certification as CPO (Certified Protection Officer)
  • Knowledge of the ISO 31000 Standard
  • Knowledge of the Private Security and Surveillance Law, Weapons and Explosives Law.
