Lundin Gold, through its Ecuadorian subsidiary Aurelian Ecuador S.A., owns the Fruta del Norte Mine (FDN), located in southeastern Ecuador in the Zamora Chinchipe Province.

Fruta del Norte (FDN) is one of the largest and highest grade gold deposits in the world currently in production. The Company has an experienced mine operations team dedicated to advancing FDN responsibly. In the fourth quarter of 2019, Lundin Gold realized first gold production as well as the first export of gold concentrate and doré. In the first quarter of 2020 FDN achieved commercial production. Lundin Gold operates transparently in accordance with international best practices and according to its three core principles: Working Safely, Environmental Stewardship and Respect.

THE ROLE

Ensure the alignment of Human Resources strategies with the Business Areas, being a strategic partner between both, with the purpose of achieving corporate objectives; building a long-term relationship of trust with each area Management, supporting their particular needs and initiatives and generating value to the business. In the absence of the Manager, he is the responsible point of contact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that the HR strategy and processes (recruitment, work schedule, staffing plan, expatriate management) are executed in the respective areas properly, in time and form; as well as, coordinate in issues related to Social Welfare, which involves Social Work and Labor Relations.
  • Raise the needs of the different areas that require advice, solution or intervention by Human Resources.
  • Support the Senior Human Resources Manager with the design and strategy of Development Plans, Performance Evaluation, Succession Plans and other Human Resources programs associated with the area’s subsystems.
  • Monitor the implementation of HR programs and projects in the respective areas and provide assistance.
  • In coordination with the Communications department, monitor the culture of Respect and provide mechanisms to reinforce this principle.
  • Provide support to the leaders of the different areas, in issues or projects related to Human Resources.
  • Resolve complaints and requests from staff, as well as elevate those that require higher level treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and legal requirements established in the Internal Regulations, Labor Code or any other associated legal body.
  • Supervise the uploading of information to the Evolution system or any other human resources ERP, related to overtime and shift overtime; ensuring consistency with Company guidelines and other legal requirements.
  • Be the second level of approval in Evolution or other applicable ERP system.
  • Lead the VLP program within the area.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Third level degree in careers such as Business Administration, Human Resources Engineering, Commercial Engineering or related. A fourth level degree is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources subsystems such as: Organizational Development, Recruitment and Selection, Labor Relations, Performance Management, Training, Organizational Climate and Labor Legislation.
  • At least 8 years of general HR experience, of which at least 5 years in leadership positions in large industrial or strategic sector companies with projects in remote locations.
  • Conflict management
  • Advanced written and spoken English
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, ERP’s, database management, Data Analytics, advanced reporting.
