Lundin Gold, through its Ecuadorian subsidiary Aurelian Ecuador S.A., owns the Fruta del Norte Mine (FDN), located in southeastern Ecuador in the Zamora Chinchipe Province.

Fruta del Norte (FDN) is one of the largest and highest grade gold deposits in the world currently in production. The Company has an experienced mine operations team dedicated to advancing FDN responsibly. In the fourth quarter of 2019, Lundin Gold realized first gold production as well as the first export of gold concentrate and doré. In the first quarter of 2020 FDN achieved commercial production. Lundin Gold operates transparently in accordance with international best practices and according to its three core principles: Working Safely, Environmental Stewardship and Respect.

THE ROLE

Integrally manage spatial geostatistics and geographic information systems providing timely alphanumeric and cartographic information, managing a timely flow of information to all areas of the company; for this we have the highest technical standards, using the latest software and tools.

The GIS Engineer will provide support for the design, implementation and maintenance of the enterprise GIS architecture for Fruta del Norte. The GIS Engineer will work to implement the different techniques and procedures to achieve an efficient and sustainable design in collaboration with the different members and departments that make up FDN to find the best GIS solutions and meet the future needs of GIS users within FDN.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide under the conditions indicated, their professional technical services with quality and in the quantity specified by the area manager and/or his delegate.
• Design, implement and manage the different GIS products in collaboration with the leaders of the different departments in FDN to meet the objectives of Lundin Gold.
• Maintain all GIS systems and applications generated, updated and aligned with company requirements.
• Guide project teams on GIS integration and workflows for the automation of processes in the different departments of the company.
• Proactive and involved with the different departments of the company in the development and support for the creation of tools and process automation.
• Establish GIS roadmaps and corresponding implementation management to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the products generated.
• Design improvements to GIS products using current resources and creating pilot tests of new products to be implemented.
• Contribute to publications, presentations, events and management presentations promoting the LUNDIN GOLD style.
• Support in the territorial planning of projects to improve the final products of the company and the primary objective, the extraction of the resource.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• University degree in Engineering Geography, Geology, Environmental, Forestry, Electronics, Geosciences, Geoinformatics, Systems, Computer, Cadastral, Geodesy, Civil Engineering, Information Management Systems, Information Technology, or related.
• Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in similar positions.
• Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Extensive knowledge of the ESRI GIS platform and its Desktop, Server and Online products.
• Knowledge in the configuration of ArcGIS product functionalities.
• Desirable knowledge in ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online and geographic information systems in general.
• Desirable knowledge in programming languages, Java, C#, C++, JavaScript and Python.
• It is essential to have an intermediate level of English, both spoken and written.
