Lundin Gold, through its Ecuadorian subsidiary Aurelian Ecuador S.A., owns the Fruta del Norte Mine (FDN), located in southeastern Ecuador in the Zamora Chinchipe Province.

Fruta del Norte (FDN) is one of the largest and highest grade gold deposits in the world currently in production. The Company has an experienced mine operations team dedicated to advancing FDN responsibly. In the fourth quarter of 2019, Lundin Gold realized first gold production as well as the first export of gold concentrate and doré. In the first quarter of 2020 FDN achieved commercial production. Lundin Gold operates transparently in accordance with international best practices and according to its three core principles: Working Safely, Environmental Stewardship and Respect.

THE ROLE

Under the supervision of the Accounting Senior Coordinator, the accounting coordinator is responsible to perform various accounts reconciliation and analysis regarding the Fruta del Norte mine, to provide support to the managers, supply chain and corporate finance teams and all other internal and external stakeholders. The accounting coordinator is a key player in the month end process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform general ledger reconciliations (advance payments, inventory, received but not invoiced, etc.)
  • Perform various analysis, as requests arise
  • Prepare reclassifications and perform all the required journal entries to complete month end in established delays
  • Provide necessary information to comply with fixed asset accounting
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Participate to the gold and concentrate monitoring
  • Provide assistance to the managers with their monthly costs review
  • Emphasis on customer service with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure department’s compliance with the requirement of Government of Ecuador, shareholders’ environmental, health and Safety legislation and company regulations.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor´s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a connected field
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience in a relevant function
  • Proficiency in Excel and Outlook is required
  • Experience with SAP and working in a world-class company are important assets
  • Knowledge of procure to pay process and three-way match
  • Previous experiences in a start up environment followed by a steady state operation period are highly valued
